Morning Sunlight

The properties of sunlight change throughout the day. Morning light stimulates hormones and is saturated in infrared light which helps heal bones and wounds. It also signals the body to produce melatonin, which is released at night, improving sleep.

These natural mechanisms align our sleep-awake cycle to the day’s 24 hour cycle – known as the “circadian rhythm”. Disruption to your circadian rhythm can reduce both your mental and physical health. So grab your morning brew, take it outside and sit down in the morning light for at least half an hour.

Even stepping outside makes a difference. Light through your eyes affects the pineal gland which is important for so many things including circadian rhythm and helping with sleep patterns.
