About Ellie

Hello 😊I am a certified Reiki Practitioner and a Therapist with the PHA (People’s Health Alliance) Ore and Hastings.

What is Reiki?
Reiki pronounced Ray-Key is Japanese for 'universal life energy' and is also used to describe a system of natural healing. The practice is taught by Reiki masters/teachers who have trained in the tradition then passed it down, in person, from master to student.

We live in a world of energy that nourishes and maintains all living things. When the energy flows there is balance and harmony within and around us, and we experience a sense of wellbeing.

Acknowledging the interconnected nature of energy in our world is essential for maintaining balance and harmony within ourselves. Reiki, as a complementary therapy, can work alongside conventional treatments to provide support. By facilitating the flow of energy and promoting a sense of wellbeing, Reiki can contribute to overall healing and enhance the effectiveness of other treatments. Its holistic approach addresses emotional needs and supports individuals in achieving a state of balance and harmony.

Reiki can be used alongside conventional or complimentary treatments and often helps to provide emotional support during recovery.

Reiki is known for its calming and therapeutic effects, particularly during challenging times when individuals may feel overwhelmed or disconnected. By promoting feelings of peace and centeredness, Reiki treatments can aid in coping with life's difficulties and restoring balance on all levels. Whether addressing short-term issues or long-standing conditions, Reiki can provide comfort, acceptance, and a more positive perspective. Its holistic approach can support individuals in navigating physical, emotional and spiritual challenges, fostering a sense of wellbeing and resilience.

Reiki Treatment
In a Reiki treatment the recipient remains clothed and lies on a couch and begins to relax. The practitioner gently places their hands onto a series of non-intrusive positions on or near the body.

There is no massage or manipulation. The whole person is treated rather than an individual area.

During a Reiki treatment, individuals may experience various sensations such as heat, tingling, or even see colours. Some recipients may also have emotional responses, signalling that energetic shifts are occurring, and harmony is being restored. Reported benefits of Reiki treatments include deep relaxation, a sense of calm, and overall well-being on emotional, spiritual, and physical levels. Many individuals also note a reduction in feelings of anxiety and overwhelm following Reiki sessions. These experiences highlight the potential for Reiki to promote holistic healing and support individuals in achieving a greater sense of balance and harmony.

Reiki Practitioners are not trained in diagnosis and will not predict specific outcomes from treatment. If people are concerned about their symptoms, they should speak to their healthcare provider or GP.

Hope to see you soon.
