Be a Volunteer Therapist
local charity East Sussex
Volunteer therapists are integral to the Trust.
Voluntary positions are available for those with relevant qualifications in massage, counselling, aromatherapy and acupuncture, to name a few.
The work is often community based in service user’s homes, or at St. Michael's Hospice or the Hub on Rye Hill.
more healthy tips
Morning Sunlight
The properties of sunlight change throughout the day. Morning light stimulates hormones and is saturated in infrared light which helps heal bones and wounds.
It also signals the body to produce melatonin, which is released at night, improving sleep.
Dietary Changes
Changing what you eat can be difficult, especially for those of us who never cook a meal.
So, if you’re one of those people, maybe it’s time to start? Even cooking once a week will start to get you in that mindset
Healthy Weight
It is widely recognised that maintaining a healthy weight can help prevent or control disease.
The prospect of losing weight can make some people feel anxious, but changes do not have to be drastic to be beneficial..
Herbal Tea
Herbal teas typically consist of herbs infused with boiling water. They are a great way to introduce herbs to your body cheaply and effectively.
Deep Breathing
Most people never think about how important breathing is and most of us don’t know how to breathe properly.
Many of us take shallow breaths instead of breathing deeply. So regularly throughout your day, stop what you are doing and breathe.
Aromatherapy
Harness the essences of mother nature! Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils for therapeutic benefit. It has been used for centuries.
Meditation
We believe good health requires looking after the mind as well as the body and a great place to start is by learning how to meditate.
If we can learn how to still the busy mind and create peace within ourselves we will feel much better
